Tushar Kumar

M.D. Psychiatrist

Dr. Tushar Kumar received a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed both his medical training and psychiatry residency through the University of Washington. He served as chief resident in his final year of residency and then went on to complete a clinical fellowship in addiction psychiatry through the University of Washington primary based at the Seattle Veteran's Hospital. Dr. Kumar is board certified in general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry and has experience treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders. He also maintains a strong interest in psychotherapy both as a primary and adjunctive approach to treatment. He has had training in a broad range of psychotherapy modalities and specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy.
